The Journal of Trustworthy and Explainable Intelligent Systems is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal published by Transparent Intelligence Publishing. The journal focuses on research that makes intelligent systems more trustworthy, explainable, safe, reliable, secure, fair, accountable, and understandable to the people who develop, evaluate, govern, and use them.

JTEIS provides a scientific platform for researchers, engineers, academics, industry professionals, and policymakers to exchange research and applied knowledge on trustworthy and explainable artificial intelligence and intelligent systems. The journal promotes interdisciplinary work spanning AI and machine learning, human-computer interaction, cybersecurity, robotics and autonomous systems, cognitive science, AI ethics, and governance.

The journal publishes research on explainable AI, interpretable learning, robustness and reliability, AI safety and assurance, privacy and security, fairness and accountability, uncertainty and calibration, causal and counterfactual explanation, human-AI interaction, responsible AI governance, and trustworthy autonomous and cyber-physical systems. JTEIS welcomes new methods, computational frameworks, evaluation protocols, system-level solutions, and practical applications that improve justified trust and meaningful understanding of intelligent-system behavior.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment followed by a double-blind peer-review process. Editorial decisions are based on scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.

JTEIS supports open access publishing to facilitate broad dissemination of scientific knowledge. Accepted articles are made freely available in accordance with the journal’s copyright and licensing policies, enabling researchers and practitioners to access and build upon published findings.

Through interdisciplinary scholarly communication, the Journal of Trustworthy and Explainable Intelligent Systems supports research on intelligent systems whose behavior, limitations, risks, and decisions can be evaluated, explained, and governed with appropriate technical and human oversight.
